Welcome remarks delivered by UGC Pres. & CEO  Art Florendo to the New Batch (Batch 11)  of Phinma Scholars during the banquet tendered By Phinma Management last September 14, 2016.

It is my pleasant task to welcome you all to this annual event of the Phinma National Scholarship Program.

This is a gathering of the Phinma Education Community consisting of the Phinma Executives, the different SBU’s Big Brothers, Big Sisters, PNS Scholars, PNS Alumni and the faculty, guests from UP/PNU and of course the staff of Phinma Foundation, Inc. who is administering the program and hosting today’s event.

The PNS Program identifies/selects and nurtures students who have manifested academic excellence and shown strong leadership potentials.  Through this program, Phinma prepares the ground work for future leaders.   

The PNS program has already graduated 124 bright young men and women, some graduated with honors and even garnering top 10 places in their respective Board Exams.  The Phinma Education Community is honoured and very proud of their achievements.  We have planted the seeds for a better future for them.

Today we welcome most specially Batch XI of our PNS Program for 2016-2017 and introduce them to their Benefactors, Supporters and their big brothers and big sisters from the Phinma Education community.

For Batch XI – just like the previous batches your admission into the program is a “life changing event in your lives, as this is the start of your journey for making your lives better”.  We hope to inspire you to be successful not just with your studies but also in life so that others help you, you may also help others.

It is also fitting that we give recognition and honor to a scholar who shown commitment to the program and the Phinma values.  We call this the “LCBB Award”

So enjoy this gathering as we have a full menu in our program not to mention the sumptuous lunch in store for us.
