PHINMA was founded in 1956 by a group of Filipino Industrialists and began as a vehicle for putting together Filipino Capital, Management and Technical expertise. Its first project was the purchase of CEBU PORTLAND CEMENT Co. (CEPOC) in 1957. The cement factory was incorporated as BACNOTAN CEMENT INDUSTRIES INC. In subsequent years it’s name was changed to BACNOTAN CONSOLIDATED INDUSTRIES INC. to integrate PHINMA’s Investments such as cement, oil exploration and development, mining, paper manufacture, steel roofing and real estate.
